Rissa Parrish teaches seventh grade Social Studies Civics and World Geography. She has been teaching for 10 years, 9 being at BMS. Mrs.Parrish grew up in Boaz and graduated Boaz High School in 1987. She attended Wallace and Snead State Community Colleges. A graduate from Jacksonville State University and University of Alabama, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree n Educations and a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Parrish is the Student Council sponsor. She received the 2004-2005 Who's Who Among American Teachers award, the 2000 Readers Choice Award for Best Coach, and is currently in her 5th year as the 4th Congressional District Coordinator for We The People.

     Mrs. Parrish is married to her husband of 16 years, Darryl Parrish, "Squirrel." She has a 15 year old son, Dylan who is a freshman at BHS, and an 11 year old daughter, Anna, who is in the sixth grade at BMS. Her seven year old miniature schnauzer, Rhett, is also an important part of her family.
